One of the most valuable ways you can support HHA is to organise your own event. Whether it’s a sporting challenge, a community event, or asking for donations instead of birthday gifts, the money you can raise from your own event can make a huge difference to our work.
Own place challenges - Some choose to raise money for HHA through their own places in organised sporting events such as marathons or swims. This is a great way to take on a serious challenge that suits you, in a safe environment, while being able to raise a significant amount of money. Get in touch for some suggestions of organised events you could enter.
Dream up your own challenge - We’ve had supporters doing some pretty crazy challenges and we always love to hear about your ideas for raising funds. Some recent examples are ‘The 3 Sleeps’ (the 3 Peaks with a twist of camping at each summit!), and a 100 mile wheelbarrow push. Anything goes as long as you’re being responsible and we’ll support you along the way.
Host an event in your community - Community events have been a staple of fundraising more years and are still a great way to raise money and spread awareness about what HHA is doing. This could be anything from a cake sale to a Zumbathon, so think about what your network of people might be keen to support and get organising! Doesn’t matter how large or small your event is, anything you can raise is much appreciated.
Donate your Birthday - This is a fundraising activity we’ve promoted for many years as it is a great way to generate money for HHA’s work without the time and cost of organising your own event or challenge. Just £150 is enough to pay for an emergency c-section in Haiti saving 2 lives. Simply ask family and friends to make a donation to HHA instead of buying you a present. To make this easy, you can set up an online fundraising page on JustGiving. Check out our ‘Birthday Fundraising’ resources.
JustGiving is our recommended online fundraising platform as it is simple to create pages and post updates about your challenge or event. Other platforms are also available and Hope Health Action is listed on most of them but get in touch if you’re not sure how to get going with your fundraising.
Giving your time to take on a challenge or host an event can generate hundreds, even thousands for HHA’s work, and you can even direct donations towards certain projects should you wish. Get in touch for help on how to get going with your event or challenge.
