Why we’re working together
Malnutrition is an un-reported health crisis which is responsible for the deaths of around 3 million children every year.
Edesia is a non-profit, social enterprise making life-saving foods, including Plumpy’Nut, - a peanut based, therapeutic food that treats severe and acute malnutrition within just 6 to 8 weeks. Since 2010, Edesia has nourished over 14 million children in nearly 60 countries.

What we’re doing
Hope Health Action has been partnering with Edesia since 2017. Alongside UNHCR, together we have provided almost 6,000 cartons of Plumpy'Nut to over 5,600 children suffering from acute malnutrition across the refugee settlements in Uganda.
Recently, UNHCR reported to HHA that through this partnership there had been no breaks in the treatment pipeline across all the nutrition clinics in the refugee settlements in Uganda during 2020. Previously there had been due to a shortage of stock. This means that no child has been refused treatment for malnutrition.
