Jemina Talja
East Africa Director
Jemina holds accreditations in international development and sociocultural anthropology, with specialisms in the field of gender equity and women’s rights. Jemina has managed significant projects and grants across a spectrum of international organisations, she has acted as the CEO of an NGO tackling human trafficking in India and has sat on the board of GlobalGirl Media UK and Red Nose Day Finland.

Edward Dima
Chair Person of East Africa Board
Pastor Edward is South Sudanese and leads our East Africa board along with various other important roles, such as President of the Baptist Convention of South Sudan. Edward is passionate about developing healthcare for the people of South Sudan through his work with HHA and other relief organisations.

Robert Okello
East Africa Head of Programmes
Joining HHA EA in 2023, Robert is a Ugandan with proven expertise for over 16 years both nationally and internationally in project management and administration. Robert has two masters in Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid, Local governance and human rights, a degree in Development Studies and several post graduate qualifications. In the past years, he has provided solid evidence-based programming leadership for both emergency and development programs for several high profile NGOs. Robert's extensive experience makes him the ideal leader to take HHA's rapidly growing portfolio of projects in East Africa forward over the coming years and we're delighted to have him on the team.

Aggrey Oguti
East Africa HR Manager
Aggrey joined HHA in May 2024 as the East Africa Human Resource Manager. As an experienced Human Resource practitioner with over 10 years in the field, he is passionate about fostering a supportive and productive workplace. Aggrey holds a post graduate diploma in Human Resource Management and Project Planning and Management, a degree in Public Administration and Management and other short courses. Throughout his career, Aggrey has worked across diverse industries both local and international, focusing on building strong teams, enhancing employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with labour laws. His approach is centred on collaboration, innovation, and creating a positive organisational culture that supports the beneficiaries, employees, and the employer

Leku Marx
New Hope BidiBidi Centre Manager
Marx is social scientist whose main accomplishments have been in the field of program management and development research. With over 14 years’ experience, Marx has demonstrated great expertise in the provision of technical support and guidance during project planning, budget preparation, expenditure control and activity implementation processes - coordination, monitoring and evaluation as well as documentation and reporting as per institutional guidelines and recommendations. Over the years, he has accomplished quite a number of assignments that have added value to his career as program manager and development researcher.

Finance Manager
James is an accounts professional with over 8 years of experience in all aspects of non-profit operations including roles at World Vision Uganda and Cure Children’s Hospital International. James joined HHA in 2021 and leads on the financial and governance elements of the HHA EA operations. James is committed to seeing lives transformed through his work.

Florence Kaluba
New Hope BidiBidi Administration Officer
Florence is our Administration Officer at the BidiBidi disability centre handling many duties needed to operate the centre effectively. In addition to running the centre reception, she looks after a team of 3 cleaners and cooks.

Anthony Longa
East Africa - Senior Driver
Anthony is the senior driver and watchman for HHA. His family fled the South Sudan war in 2017 and have since been living in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement, one of the largest settlements in the world. Anthony is an experienced driver and trustworthy watchman who loves spending time with our visiting teams and helping out wherever help is needed.

Emmanuel Emor
East Africa Prosthetics & Orthotics Manager
Emma manages the P&O department, based at our Disability Centre in BidiBidi Refugee Settlement. He studied Orthopaedic Technology at Mulago Paramedical School in Kampala and joined HHA in October 2021 to serve people living with disability through the creation of artificial limbs and training to use them.

Robert Wakyemba
Occupational Therapist
Robert joined HHA with 6 years experience as an Occupational Therapist in the management of children, adolescents and adults with disabilities, both mental and physical conditions. His goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to reach their full potential, participate fully in life, and achieve optimal quality of life.

Moses Mogga
Wheelchair Manager
Mogga is South Sudanese and now working for HHA in the New Hope BidiBidi Disability Centre managing the wheelchair department after previously working as a wheelchair technician.

David Mumbere
Physiotherapist
David is a reliable Physiotherapist with 9 years experience of working with both Children and Adults. He is very passionate about helping Children with Disabilities overcome the barriers within their lives, helping them achieve the possible maximum potential and be able to live independent functional lives.

Robert Rapsy Ogwang
East Africa Nutrition Officer
Robert holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Nutrition from Makerere University Kampala and now works as the Nutrition Officer for HHA East Africa under our Nutrition and Livelihoods project. Robert is an experienced Community and Clinical Nutritionist with a strong history of working with non-profit organisations and public authorities. He is passionate about serving people living with disabilities and happy to be part of the HHA EA family offering Nutrition Technical Support for the improvement of nutritional status, health and well-being of vulnerable people.

Pita Kaddija Abbibu (Agnes)
East Africa Community Based Rehabilitation Manager
Agnes is South Sudanese, originally a teacher by profession, but now also a wheelchair technician. Agnes worked for HHA as a Community Based Rehabilitation worker for 3 years before becoming a wheelchair technician in 2021. She now manages the CBR teams in Uganda and South Sudan - a team of 31! Agnes is passionate about serving people with disabilities and loves to work in the community.

Amazing Grace School Education Coordinator
Cons is an information technology specialist who learnt his profession at Cavendish University, Uganda. He joined HHA as a volunteer to manage and coordinate all HHA projects in Amazing Grace School.

Guylee Simmonds
Architect
Guylee has been involved in HHA’s work since first volunteering in Haiti in 2009 and has led a diverse range of design, construction and publicity work ever since. He designed and oversaw the construction of the hospital chapel, living in Haiti between 2016 and 2018. HHA recently welcomed Guylee back to the team, to lead the design and project management of our various building and infrastructure projects in both Haiti and East Africa. Guylee lives in Tromsø, Northern Norway.

Phil McRae
Field Operations Coordinator
Phil has a range of responsibilities including finance, logistics, and daily operations splitting his time between our Haiti and East Africa operations. He brings with him decades of relevant experience from a long career in the Navy and various Project Management roles. Phil is a big Rugby fan and enjoys motorbike touring.
