Meet the team behind Hope Health Action


HHA has a diverse board to ensure we fulfill our charitable objectives with excellence, in the most effective, transparent and professional way possible. We do so in accordance with legal requirements set out by the UK's Charity Commission and specific standards set out by groups like DFID, the UN and our other partners.

Minister of Coney Hill Baptist Church, out of which HHA was founded. Also Chair of Governors for a local primary school and a Trustee for two other charities, a residential home and a family support organization. Alongside his Church responsibilities he speaks across the UK on philosophy and ethics.


Chair of Trustees

Has over ten years of experience in the finance, cost and analytics space, currently acting as HSBC's Head of Cost Allocation. Previously he worked for RBS's wealth division in an Executive Decision Support role and at Lloyds Banking Group in a Finance Business Partner role. Amadi is a qualified Management Accountant and also holds a Masters in Economics Finance and Management from the University of Bristol.



Has spent his working life in healthcare and specifically purchasing, equipment procurement and project management. His last role at HCA International was Director of Purchasing across the six London based Hospitals, with an annual expenditure of £100m. Clive has recently retired to take up a fulltime role as part of a Pastoral team in a local Church in Bromley.


Has seven years experience on the senior management team of BMS World Mission (one of the UKs largest Christian NGOs), with specialisms of marketing and communication. Over the years Gareth has visited and worked in many developing countries in order to fundraise and promote mission to churches. He is currently Senior Minister of Broadmead Baptist Church, East London.


By profession is a Building Surveyor and chartered Structural Engineer and is currently a director of his own building company. He is a founder member of HHA, and was one of the first persons to visit Haiti in December 2005. Rodney has also been an elder at Coney Hill Baptist Church (from which HHA grew) for over ten years.


Has been a Trustee with HHA since January 2013. With experience in business management, charity governance, HR and Safeguarding she currently works within the NHS as a Business Manager to the CEO and Chairman of one of the London trusts. This follows a career with various other senior management roles.


Works as a Paediatrician, specialising in Neonatal Medicine. Cheryl graduated from Nottingham University Medical School and completed her Paediatric training in London. She is currently undertaking her PhD at the Neonatal Data Analysis Unit (NDAU) Imperial College London and is conducting a national study focusing on the epidemiology of Necrotising Enterocolitis.



HHA is privileged to have a small but amazing team of staff and volunteers who work passionately to fulfill the aims and objectives of HHA.

Co-founded HHA following a visit to Haiti in 2005 and has since lead the charity, including managing grants as an implementing partner on behalf of DFID, UN, USAID and others. Carwyn is also on the board of CYAN International and EndPoverty 2030.


CEO & Co-Founder

Joined HHA in 2015 following over ten years of experience in the Fundraising sector, including working for St. Johns Ambulance and The Children's Society. Tim coordinates all our fundraising activities and provides valuable marketing support.


Fundraising Coordinator

Has been volunteering passionately for HHA since 2010 in various capacities, and finally came on board as a staff member in 2014 to help oversee our grants, especially with larger agencies like DFID, Australia DAP and others. Kuni has a degree in Cross Cultural Studies and an MA in Sociology.


Grants & Programme Operations

Joined HHA in 2015 to head up our finances, following various other roles in the Finance sector. Ransford is a Chartered Certified Accountant and helps manage HHAs day-to-day financial tasks, as well as broader strategic decisions.


Finance Manager

A CIMA Fellow Accountant with extensive experience in the charity sector, both at home and abroad. Joined HHA in 2015 to oversee the development of a new Finance system at the partner hospital HHA support in Haiti.


Haiti Finance Development

Has lived in Haiti for over 4 years and manages everything on the ground, whether it be implementing grants on behalf of DFID, UN or others, managing logistics, providing hands on care (as a qualified Paediatric Nurse) or feeding the chickens (it's a diverse role)!


Haiti Programme Manager

Joined HHA in 2015 as part of a one year Internship Programme, having graduated from the University of East Anglia in International Development with Overseas Experience. Rhoda lives in Haiti, heading up our volunteer opportunities.


Volunteer Coordinator

Lives in Haiti on our one year Internship Programme, having just completed a Masters in Public Health from Ludwig-Maximilians Unviersity, Munich. Verena is also a qualified Physiotherapy and provides support to our programmes in Haiti.


Programme Assistance


It would be impossible to list every volunteer HHA is blessed with, but our regulars definitely deserve a mention. Carol, Isobel, Claire, Ros, Mike, Hshen, Glynis, John, Evelyn, Guylee and Hannah provide invaluable support to HHA.
